2. The Immigrant. Charlie Chaplin was one of the greatest stars of the 20th century and a favorite of mine. This short film only has a runtime of 22 minutes, but Charlie always knew how to pack entertainment in every movie he worked on. Released in 1917, see his voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to the United States.

3. The Visitor. This 2007 movie follows a lonely professor who becomes close with a Syrian newcomer who stays in his apartment. When I saw this movie, you will feel every emotion you have, from happiness to anger, from smiling to shedding a few tears, but it is a must-see for the brilliant acting all around.

4. Green Card (1990): A friend sets up a marriage of convenience between London-born Brontë Parrish and Frenchman George Faure. George wants to stay in the United States but needs a green card. In the meantime, gardener Brontë has found the perfect apartment with a greenhouse, but it can only be hired by a married pair. Green Card, it's a fun movie.

5. Dirty Pretty Things. A thought-provoking movie that really grabbed my attention. It showcases the problems faced by illegal immigrants in London and the injustices they endure. The performances were terrific, and the storytelling was genuinely captivating, making it an unforgettable viewing experience for me. I couldn't help but feel deeply moved by the characters' struggles and the harsh reality they were living in.

6. Next on my list is Mother of Mine from 2005. This follows nine-year-old Finnish boy Eero during World War II when thousands of Finnish children were sent to Sweden to avoid the war. He is set up with a foster mother in Sweden, but he feels like his biological mother abandoned him. As you watch this movie, you will see how much confusion Eero has during this time in his life.

7. For the seventh movie on my list, I am going with a documentary film released in 2017 called Human Flow. This film by Ai Weiwei won numerous awards for Best Documentary that year. The movie captures, over the course of a year, refugees from twenty-three different countries sharing their stories and looking for safety and shelter for themselves and their families.

8. Sin Nombre (2009) What a thrilling movie this is! It had me hooked for every minute, as it shows two stories. One is the journey of a young Honduran girl taking a dangerous trip to the United States. The other is a gang member who is just trying to have a life outside the gang. I was really moved by the challenges they both faced, from dealing with cruelty and betrayal to showing the incredible strength and bravery they both have. It is a compelling tale that effectively emphasizes the challenges faced by immigrants.

9. In 2007, the moving movie Under the Same Moon followed a young Mexican boy on a journey to find his working mother in the United States.

10. In This World (2002): This breathtaking movie, directed by Michael Winterbottom, follows two Afghan orphans as they try to make it to London.
